Bridal bookings are the one service where timing really matters, because the date isn't moving. Here's how we'd suggest planning it.
3-6 months out: book a trial
A bridal hair and makeup trial isn't essential, but it's strongly recommended if you want zero surprises on the day — especially if you're going for a specific look (an updo that needs to hold through a ceremony and reception, or makeup that needs to photograph well, not just look good in the mirror). Book your trial around the same time you're locking in other vendors.
6-8 weeks out: get your hair into shape
If you're planning a colour change, a cut, or a treatment like keratin for the wedding, don't leave it for the week of. Hair needs time to settle into a new colour or cut before a trial, and definitely before the day itself. This is also the point to book any waxing or lash work you want done ahead of time, rather than rushed in the final week.
1-2 weeks out: final touch-ups only
This is root touch-up territory, not a big change. Anything major this close to the date is risky — new colour or a big cut change needs runway to look right and to fix if it's not quite what you pictured.
The morning of
Budget more time than you think. Bridal hair styling alone runs about an hour; add makeup and you're looking at meaningfully longer, especially with a bridal party. We'll work backwards from your ceremony time with you to build a running order — who goes first, how long each person needs, and when you personally need to be finished so you're not rushing.
