Lash Extensions Explained: Classic vs Hybrid, and How to Make Them Last

Lash extensions are one of those services where the terminology (classic, hybrid, volume) gets thrown around without much explanation. Here's what it actually means for your lashes.

Classic lashes

One extension applied to one natural lash, matched close to your own lash's thickness and curl. The result is a natural, mascara-like enhancement — more definition and length, not a dramatically different look. Good if you want your lashes to look like your lashes, just better.

Hybrid lashes

A mix of classic (single) and volume (multiple fine extensions fanned onto one natural lash) techniques through the set. This gives more texture and fullness than classic alone, without going as bold as a full volume set. It's the most popular option for people who want noticeably fuller lashes but still natural-looking. Our full set hybrid starts at $130.

Which one should you get?

  • Want subtle, everyday enhancement → classic
  • Want fuller lashes without looking "done" → hybrid
  • Have naturally sparse lashes and want maximum volume → ask us about a volume-focused set when you book

Refills and infills — what's the difference?

Lash extensions shed naturally along with your own lashes (which have a growth cycle, same as the hair on your head). That's why refills exist:

  • Classic Refill ($50) — a lighter top-up when a portion of the set has shed.
  • Classic Infill ($80) — a fuller replenishment when more has grown out, bringing the set back closer to a full new application.

Most clients book a refill every 2-3 weeks to keep a set looking full.

Making a set last

  • Skip waterproof mascara and oil-based makeup removers — both break down lash adhesive faster than they should.
  • Avoid rubbing your eyes or sleeping face-down where lashes get crushed against a pillow.
  • Brush them daily with a clean spoolie to keep them separated and prevent tangling.
  • Keep them dry for the first 24 hours after application while the adhesive fully cures.
